Our vacancies

Development Engineer Laser Communication Systems

We are looking for a full-time technical developer with project management functions as soon as possible.

Tasks: Our opto-mechanical solutions influence wavefronts to compensate for atmospheric aberrations. Within the scope of this project, experiments for the compensation of aberrations will be planned, technically implemented, and carried out. For this, you need to enjoy and have experience in experimental work, expertise in setting up optical measurement stations, and background knowledge of aberrations.

We offer you:

  • Exciting and varied activities in a strong development area
  • A lot of freedom, space for creativity and personal responsibility, as well as the opportunity to actively shape the development of a young company
  • Short decision-making processes
  • A permanent employment contract
  • Joy in cooperating with a motivated team
  • Start-up atmosphere with plenty of freedom to realize your ideas
  • The opportunity to make a small contribution to achieving climate goals by transforming a traditional industry with sustainable products and green photonics
  • Flexible working hours with flextime and various working time models
  • Good work/life balance
  • Weekly team breakfast
  • Development projects in collaboration with universities, research institutes, and space agencies
  • A lot of freedom, space for creativity, and personal responsibility
  • Short decision-making processes
  • Family-friendly, friendly working environment
  • Team events

You bring:

  • You have a completed degree (MA) in engineering, physics, or a STEM field and already have a few years of work experience.
  • You have interest and some initial experience in at least one of the following areas: laser communication, control engineering, simulations of light propagation in the atmosphere, or laser physics.
  • Ideally, you would like to support the product throughout the entire product life cycle.
  • You work carefully, independently, and with courage.
  • You have knowledge in the creation of technical documentation.
  • You are motivated and independent, and enthusiastic about new ideas.
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Passion for technology.
  • Reliability and independent working style.

Bachelor / Master Thesis: Evaluation and Optimization of Laser-Induced Changes in Optics

Our Zwobbel® system consists of an adjustable mirror, a high-voltage power supply, and control electronics. The system shifts the beam focus of a laser along its propagation. As part of a project, the transferability of Zwobbel® technology to other wavelengths will be investigated.

Your Tasks: As part of your thesis, a prototype should be built, optically characterized, and then evaluated in a high-performance system together with a partner. Disruptive laser-induced changes should be analyzed and, if necessary, compensated.

We Offer You:

  • A lot of freedom, space for creativity, and personal responsibility
  • Short decision-making processes
  • A family-friendly, friendly working environment
  • Interesting, varied work
  • Excellent networking with research institutes and integration into a research project

You Bring:

  • Technical studies in laser technology, precision engineering, laser and optical technology, physics, or similar fields
  • Ideally, already have knowledge in the field of technical optics
  • Interest and skill in experimental work with lasers and optics
  • Courage to try new things
